Thinking about selling your home? Then now might be the time for an energy-efficiency makeover, according to an article by The Oxford Press. With energy prices skyrocketing, buyers are concerned with more than just curb appeal – they want to know what their energy bills will look like too.

“Being transparent about how your home is budget-conscious can set your property apart from the rest,” said Joe King, president of Coldwell Banker West Shell.

Provide information on utility costs and any home improvements or recent cleanings. “Green” improvements like new energy-efficient appliances, insulation or new windows are especially important to emphasize.”

And with all the recent government rebates on Energy Star appliances and other upgrades such as energy-efficient replacement windows, you can recoup some of your investment now and the rest when you sell your home for more than you thought!
