In-home consultation
Before making a purchase, we want to make sure you understand how our process works. That’s why we schedule a convenient appointment for a product specialist to visit your home and explain your specific needs. We’ll work around your schedule, too. Appointments are available mornings, afternoons, evenings and weekends.
Important note about in-home visits:
We do require that every decision-maker in the process participates in our in-home consultation. This aspect of the sales process is sometimes confused by homeowners who believe that they can relay the information to their partner, “catch them up” or make the decision alone.
We want to ensure that everyone who will weigh in on the home improvement decision is in the same room at the same time. This prevents miscommunication, allows all questions to be answered by a trained LONG expert and lets you and your family make the ultimate decision with the best set of resources.

Our consultants are eager to educate you about aesthetics, product quality, energy efficiency, security, financing and budgeting for your home improvement needs. They’ll answer all your questions and leave you with enough information to make a truly informed decision.
Design consultation
Chances are your home is your single biggest investment. We understand that, which is why we do everything we can to make sure your home improvement project is done right.
Once you decide to purchase, we’ll have our product specialist visit your home with physical samples so you can see exactly what options you have available to you.
Depending on your budget and design preference, we’ll help you choose from a wide selection of colors, styles, sizes, designs and features to match the interior and exterior of your home.
Measurement
No matter your project, getting proper measurements is a critical part of the process. Getting the right measurement ensures that your product will be installed on schedule and within budget. A Long Roofing or Long Home Products professional will come to your house to determine the exact measurement and scope of materials needed for your project.
Once a homeowner has decided on a roofing project, for example, we’ll use our satellite technology to determine your roof’s dimensions. This way, we know exactly how much material is required to complete the installation.
Manufacturing
Once we have the measurements, your products will be custom-ordered to fit your home. We work with only the most trusted manufacturers to ensure that your product will provide the utmost quality solution to your needs.
Installation
Our professional installers make the installation process easy and efficient. That’s the Red Carpet treatment.
What is Red Carpet treatment?

If installing windows and doors:
- We will offer to wear shoe covers to protect your carpets
- We will put drop cloths down to protect your home
- We will clean your new windows before we leave
If installing roofing and siding:
- We will use tarps to cover and protect your shrubs and outdoor items
- We will use a magnetic sweeper to find any stray nails in your yard
